Game #1 Sorscha1 vs dr arcadius

Hello and welcome to my first battle report on moment of clarity. It is also my first game with brand new CIDed wolves of winter. And I picked up long forgotten Sorscha1 who I think could be very interesting in this theme and specially in the current meta. My opponent was QC who you already know from minions battle reports 🙂 .

I won the starting roll and decided to go first. My plan is obviously to take as much space as I can and hold my opponent army far behind the zones.

Deploy. Photos from my opponent side as you can see. Gun carriage chassis is conquest and Vlad2 count as Sorscha 😀

Turn1: I run almost as far as I can. I just aware to not give up models so easily from his sprays and gun boar blasts. I also carefully spacing my doomies to not let him pass over them with overtaking beasts.

QC: Gun boar killed 2 reavers with a help of arcillary attack. One doomy is on fire (he burned to death next turn 🙁 ). And basically all his army hide behind forest and mira’s clouds.

After both players turn 1

Turn2: Apparition on outriders and I advanced them first towards gobbers. I went super lucky killing his targ, little boar and 1 gobber. Next I gave guidance (never though this spell is so broken) to conquest and shotted with main gun his left road hog. With boosted attack I critically hitted and rolled 5 for devastation. Throwing away his 3 beasts and Arcadius. Doomies just advanced forward..

My turn 2


QC: My opponent decided he want to kill my collosal (propably the davastation pissed him off) so he started to clear the way for his war hog. Feat was activated. Beasts gone wild, they charged everyone, sometimes my models sometimes theirs. One road hog actually made a clever play, he cleared some doomies then sprint backwards. On the right flank however nothing happened, gorax just contested the zone. Finally primaled and raged war hog(pow23) makes his way to my conquest, unfortunatelly had to charge one last doomie and overtake to my conquest. The rolls wasnt favor for him and he left him with 1/2 hp.
I scored on my flag.

After turn 2. CP 1:0 for khador

Turn 3: This is the time where you can enjoy your swordsmans. I went with ternion first to lower armor of the two war hoges, missed 2 times the one in combat though (this was the moment where I could used my feat this game). Conquest take care of the warhog from which he got blows. Then 3 doomies destroyed war hog in the forest, next 2 removed gorax. Road hog and gun boar also fell under the swords easily.
After all I scored just 2 points, because Sorscha coudnt get to the left zone and I leave objective on some hp.

At this point Adam conceded. There is nothing he can do with his remaining two beasts.

Afterthoughs:

  • Of course it was really hard for my opponent the get rid of my models. When they outnumbered and outthreaded him. Especially when three of my doomies kills his heavy.
  • Crittical devastation made some advantage as it usually does.
  • There is problem in my list when you want to score at two rectangle zone. Collosal want to be rather at center of table, to have in shoting range important targets. But I’m afraid there is nothing I can do about it, since taking berserker over Fenris is out of the question I think.
  • Doomies still are very vurnable targets but now you have them more for cheaper prize and with -2arm from ternions they hit super hard.
