Hello World :D

This is my first post on this blog so I will write few things about myself and how I intend to force my self to write proper posts here 😛
My name is Szymon, but some of you may know me as Simon. I’m playing (or attend events as TO or judge) around 14 years and I’ve played till this point Cryx, RoS, PoM, LoE, CoC and Minions. I’m going to use this blog as a way to confirm, that I’m still playing this game and I don’t only judge events like WTC, Polish Masters or Czech Masters 😛

I’ve started to play Minions, when I’ve received “Widower’s Wood” from kickstater. Right now I own almost every model from this faction and I try to test some various stuff. Untill this point I’ve played with Rask (mostly with him), Calaban, Maelok, Jaga-Jaga, Sturm and Drung. I’m trying to test various lists before switching warlocks. Recently I’m testing pair for Champions’s format and last few games I was playing Jaga-Jaga and Sturm and Drung. I think, that this is quite interesting pair in this format, but it is also really challenging. I want to present two lists, which I’m considering right now and why.

Here is Jaga-Jaga’s list:

Minion Army – 75 / 75 points
[Theme] The Blindwater Congregation

[Jaga-Jaga 1] Jaga-Jaga, the Death Charmer [+27]
– Blackhide Wrastler [16]
– Boneswarm [7]
– Boneswarm [7]
– Gatorman Soul Slave [0(5)]
Feralgeist [2]
Gatorman Husk [3]
Bog Trog Ambushers (min) [8]
Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [0(5)]
Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [0(5)]
Croak Raiders (max) [16]
Croak Raiders (max) [16]
Gatorman Bokor & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers [10]
Sacral Vault [17]

Here was quite easy choice. All four warlock’s can play really well in WWFF’s lists, but only Jaga-Jaga is quite good option in Blindwater Congregation’s theme force. S&P is really good option in this game (or at least I’ve heard so) and with connection to high volume of ranged attacks it can fight with a lot of champion’s meta. Here is description how I intend to use certain parts of this list:

Croak Raiders (max) [16]
Croak Raiders (max) [16]
Croaks are really good dmg dealers (POW 11 gun with additional die with S&P). They are core of this list. Bringing 20 bodies also helps in attrition.

Gatorman Husk [3]
Bog Trog Ambushers (min) [8]
Ambush 😉 They are forcing opponent to stay in the middle of the table and can also contest enemy’s flag and zone’s. It’s really helpful in later rounds (4+).

– Blackhide Wrastler [16]
– Boneswarm [7]
– Boneswarm [7]
With corpses tokens, animus and Grave Wind Boneswarm’s are DEF 17 and ARM 18 against living models. It can help to contest scenarios. Also with Wraster’s animus they have good hitting power (18+S&P). Also Ghost walk can really help, when there is obstruction it the middle of the table.

– Gatorman Soul Slave [0(5)]
Soul Slave is doing mainly three things:
1. Upkeep for free
2. Casts Ghost Walk
3. Casts Deadwight

Sacral Vault [17]
Quite good shooting with S&P. There is also a lot of souls on the table so he can make a lot of boosts 🙂

Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [0(5)]
Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [0(5)]
Two cauldrons help to feed Boneswarms with corpses. They can also help in later stages of the games with spectral leash and Puppet Master.

Gatorman Bokor & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers [10]
Bokor and Shamblers are taking additional corpses from cauldron’s they. It’s quite easy to fill them with 20 additional bodies. I’ve tried version with additional ambushers and additional husk. Both are really interesting and I don’t know which I will choose in the end 🙂

Feralgeist [2]
This solo is mainly to control flag on my side of the table.

Here is Strum and Drung’s list:

Minion Army – 75 / 75 points
[Theme] Will Work for Food

[Sturm 1 & Drang 1] Sturm & Drang [+28]
– Battle Boar [7]
– Battle Boar [7]
– War Hog [15]
– Gatorman Soul Slave [0(5)]
Bog Trog Mist Speaker [0(4)]
Dahlia Hallyr [17]
Eilish Garrity, the Occultist [0(5)]
Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor [0(5)]
Rorsh [15]
Underchief Mire [4]
– Dracodile [36]
Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew [2]

After choosing BW’s list, there is problem with WWFF’s list. All four of warlocks really like this theme force and if I’ve good and option I would select two WWFF lists. But I can’t 😉 I’ve chosen S&D, because of suitability and control options. This lists make quite good all rounder, but it’s really hard to master (for sure for me 😛 ). And here are few words about my choices:

– Battle Boar [7]
– Battle Boar [7]
– War Hog [15]
– Gatorman Soul Slave [0(5)]
Quite simple battle group. Two battle boars for primal and war hog for additional hitting power. Spell slave is mainly to cast TK and he can be really aggressive on the table 🙂

Rorsh [15]
Ninja Pig is always good 🙂 Option for assassination and taking out key warbeasts in opponent’s list.

Dahlia Hallyr [17]
Dahlia and Snake are here to help with cleaning infantry. Snake is main target for Vision.

Underchief Mire [4]
– Dracodile [36]
Dracodile is really good option, because polarity field. This model is hard to remove with Deceleration, when it can’t be charged.

Bog Trog Mist Speaker [0(4)]
Eilish Garrity, the Occultist [0(5)]
Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor [0(5)]
Good support pack. Really important here is Orin, who helps to protect dracodile against spells.

Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew [2]
Swamp gobbers are here mainly to try to control zones.

I still have two weeks before this event with around 4-6 games, which are planned. We will see how it will work out. Do you have any opinions how do change those lists? Do you like this pair or would you test any solutions for such events?
It would be really great to hear your opinions on this topic 🙂

I will at least try posts here one battle report per week. Please look for my battle reports every Monday next week on 12.11.2018 🙂
