In the last game of 12 games played in Oslo during ConQuest weekend I played against a player that I already faced the previous day – Fredrik.
This time I wanted to see how Siege will do against Protectorate. Fredrik decided to go with the same list, as previously – Cyrenia1.

Scrutator Potentate Severius [0(6)]
– Dervish
Vassal Mechanik

Exemplar Cinerators (max)
– Exemplar Cinerator Officer [0(5)]
Exemplar Vengers (max)
Vessel of Judgment
My Siege1 list:

– Charger
– Charger
– Triumph
– Squire [0(5)]
Journeyman Lieutenant Allister Caine [0(5)]
– Ace
Thamarite Archon
Alexia Ciannor & the Risen
Field Mechaniks (min)
Storm Strider
Storm Strider
Savio Montero Acosta [0(6)]
We played Bunkers.
Fredrik won the roll and decided to go first. I decided to pick the side without the huge impassable terrain on the flank that would block my battle engines.
Fredrik deployed his battle engine on the left flank, together with heavy infantry. Jacks and Cyrenia were deployed in the middle. The cavalry took position on the right flank.
I deployed my models as usual, battle engines on the flanks, all the rest in the middle, Caine close to Siege to cast FFE early on.
Round 1 Turn 1
Cyrenia cast wall template in the middle and Inviolable Resolve on Cinerators. All the models advanced cautiously and stayed outside of my threat ranges.
Round 1 Turn 2
Caine cast FFE on Siege. Both engines ran forward to threaten the next turn. Archon got closer to the rightmost Strider. Alexia created a Thrall on the left. Acosta stood behind the flag to try to capture the middle flag in case there would not be enough models to contest it.
Round 2 Turn 1
Fredrik decided to take the first hit, Cyrenia certainly can do that. He took advantage of terrain, hiding cavalry models behind the wall and in cover, although one of them ran to jam my rightmost engine. Both jacks took convenient positions behind the cloud. Part of Cinerators moved behind the forest. Severius1 stood safely behind the rock. I believe that was the turn when Cyrenia feated.
Round 2 Turn 2
I knew that Cyrenia’s feat can be tricky, so I was pretty sure that the result can differ from what I planned to do this turn. That was going to be my feat turn (thanks Maxim for reminding me). On the right flank, I managed to kill 3 out of 5 Vengers, sadly, I couldn’t kill the last contesting model behind the wall, so scoring the rightmost flag was out of the question. In the middle I managed to get rid of one of the heavy warjacks. Ace, together with Caine, pushed the other jack away, so I could score the flag in the middle. On the left flank, I managed to kill only one Cinerator, ouch. That obviously triggered Vengeance. I dealt some damage to the others, though. Happily, I managed to RfP Warder. Alexia created another Thrall and he ran to contest the opposite rectangular zone. The other Thrall contested the left flag, just in case. I scored 2 points, but somehow I marked only 1 : ( and I will stick to this, as that’s what we marked then. At the end of the turn I realized, that with Vengeance and Dash could potentially reach Siege. I decided to block it with Strider, as he was most probably going down, nevertheless. It was 1:0 to my advantage.
Round 3 Turn 1
As predicted, Fredrik took the Storm Strider down with FoS and Cinerators. Dervish took care of Thamarite Archon, Acosta and moved closer to Triumph and Charger. Heavy infantry that charged forward finished Charger, used mini-feat and repositioned closer to Siege. Fortunately, he didn’t have enough attacks to get rid of the Thrall and the flag remained contested. On the other flank, Vengers charged in and engaged Charger and Strider. Most of my important models were engaged in melee. Frederik scored 1 point, 1:1.
Round 3 Turn 2
That was a tough nut to crack, to get rid of all the blocking models. First, Triumph with his Maintenance shot killed one of the cinerators, I believe. Storm Strider took care of the two Vengers left. Alexia, together with Ace, killed remaining Cinerators and freed Siege. My caster moved backwards to be a little bit safer and opened fire. Triumph joined in and they successfully killed FoS. Charger ran forward to get closer to the enemy zone and to contest the flag on the right. We both scored a point, 2:2.
Round 4 Turn 1
Fredrik killed the Thrall with Vengeance movement and Cinerators, joined by Dervish, tried to kill Triumph. Fortunately, Triumph stood his ground. Graavus captured flag on the left flank. Severius managed to kill Charger on the right, ouch. Somehow, I also lost Caine, I believe it was the battle engine’s fault. Fredrik scored 2 points, 2:4.
Round 4 Turn 2
I was running low on clock and I had to act quickly. I killed remaining Cinerators and damaged Dervish. Storm Strider charged in, killed Severius and dealt damage to the objective. Triumph finished the objective. Mechanics ran to contest the zone. Squire ran to capture the flag on the right. Thrall captured the flag in the middle. Risen contested the flag on the left and I scored 4 points, 6:4!
Round 5 Turn 1
Fredrik lost most of his army and couldn’t do much. Graavus cleared the flag on the left and Cyrenia charged forward and killed Thrall. Fredrik scored on point, 5:6.
Round 5 Turn 2
Strider ran to score a point in the rectangular zone. Alexia and Risen moved forward and contested the flag on the left. Moreover, Alexia created a Thrall that ran to score the middle flag. I scored 4 points and we shook our hands, 10:5.
That was the last game that weekend and it was played till the very end. That was a perfect summary of the last three days ; ) Fredrik managed to jam my list pretty well, but fortunately I had some models in reserve that helped me free my army.
I can sincerely recommend coming to Oslo to take part in ConQuest, especially if you have a friend who can host you hahah it makes it much more affordable ; )
After the tournament, for the first time there I had the opportunity to walk around the city, but after standing and rolling dice for 3 days I couldn’t walk more than for a couple of hours haha well deserved rest came the next day.
Thank you for reading the whole cycle of 12 battle reports from Oslo, it took me some time to describe all the games, but I hope you enjoyed it.
Now, I have to describe games played the next weekend – Polish Team Championship haha January was a busy month!
